Well, I didn't login at the beginning of the day, which screwed me. My planets were maxed for several hours, and it gave Spar7an enough time to borrow money from Kyuubi in order to hit Ghost rider, the supposed cheater. After that, both climbed well in rankings. I would have had the funds to take him out without boring from other players, but was unable to login.
Additionally, I took some planets of Priam, then his brother (Hedron) tried to SM me, but I nailed him first. While I was cleaning up the sector, I was surprised by Kyuubi attacking. Apparently Hedron had asked him to hit me. Oh well, I lost a ship worth 30b and a few b in cash I had on my ship. No big loss, I was still ranked #2.
Now, I am trying to catch Spar7an, which is tough, because he got a jump start by hitting the #1 person, with help. He also did not have to sell his cargo ship which I did, (The one that had put me into #1 originally, a 240 hull'd Colombus) in order to buy the Razorback I used to nearly kill Ghost rider (I had a tech failure on beams AND fighters, else he would have been toasted instead of just damaged.) In addition, he did not lose said Razorback. Still, the fight is not impossible. I have changed to a more peaceful approach again, but we'll see how long it lasts.

Day ended with just some people starting to work up their score. Had one possible cheater, who managed to jump from 10360 score to 280k score in one turn. He was attacking Spar7an, and podded Kyuubi, so I changed tactics and bought a ship. Damaged him over 2/3 armor, and dropped his Hulls to 115. He flew to Sol, logged off, and logged in 5 minutes later with a 250 hull. I know this, because Spar7an had a spy on his ship.
